Salwaa Chetizsa is an illustrator and fashion stylist based in Bali. She now works as an apprentice at a ceramic studio and as a freelance illustrator. Her interests include art, illustrations, tattoos, fashion sustainability, environment, traveling, and yoga. She will give us some recommendation local businesses!
1. Ensemble

A local womenswear brand creating timeless pieces that you can wear for years and doing so consciously and responsibly. Check their Instagram to read more about their efforts on being more sustainable. If I had to have one dress for the rest of my life, it would be the black chaleur dress from ensemble.
2. Wearnanako

For years I have been searching for an underwear brand that is locally, ethically made, and affordable. The pieces are made to order and it comes in different colors, and the fit is just perfect. And of course, I recommend getting a black set of undies and a bra.
3. Artaderau

Artaderau is a woman-owned ceramic and art studio in Bali, and is run by creative locals (including me lol!). We sell unique handmade and hand-painted ceramics and we also hold private ceramic workshops. I think it’s worth investing in a well-made ceramic mug or cup that you know you will use everyday, because you do use it everyday. A bit of shameless promotion here, I have a collaboration collection with them and my hand-pinched Confessions Cup would make a nice cup for your morning tea or just to put your trinkets in.
Remember to shop consciously and buy local businesses!
